Mr. J.R. Dachel

We’d like to spotlight Mr. J.R. Dachel, Principal of Baldwin-Woodville High School, and share a bit about his background and commitment to the district.

A graduate of Bloomer High School, Mr. Dachel went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Education with a minor in Driver’s Education from UW-Stout. He later completed his Principal Licensure through UW-River Falls and has also earned his Superintendent’s Licensure through UW-Superior.

Mr. Dachel has been a dedicated member of the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District since August 2002, when he was hired as a Technology Education teacher at the high school. In 2009, he took on a leadership role as Dean of Students, Athletic Director, and Transportation Director at BWHS. His career has since included roles as Principal of Viking Middle School and Principal of Greenfield Elementary, all while continuing to serve as Transportation Director.

In August 2024, Mr. Dachel returned to where his career in the district began—Baldwin-Woodville High School—this time as Principal. His long-standing connection to students, staff, and the community is evident in everything he does.

You’ll often find Mr. Dachel supporting students at extracurricular and athletic events. His passion for coaching has led him to volunteer in many sports over the years, further demonstrating his commitment to student development both in and out of the classroom.

Mr. Dachel’s deep ties to the district and his steady leadership are valued across our schools. Feel free to connect with him—he’s always proud to be part of the BWSD team.
