📚 Books Change Lives—Even by Suitcase! ✈️
Our 1st graders are officially global citizens! 🌎 After finishing their "How Books Change Lives Around the World" module, they learned that books reach kids via camels, boats, and buses. 🐫🛶
To help, they filled two suitcases with books for a small school in Roatan! 🏝️ Since the local 4th grade had very few resources, our students made sure these books took flight with local missionaries. 🧳✨
We can’t wait to see the photos of the delivery in February! 📸📖

We think our students are absolutely GRAPE! 🍇❤️
Our amazing lunch ladies found this heart-shaped gem while prepping for the day and couldn’t resist sharing the love. Just a little reminder that our cafeteria staff puts their whole hearts into fueling our school!

💜 January is Moebius Syndrome Awareness Month! 💜
Students in Ms. Warner’s 1st grade class showed their support by wearing purple to celebrate one of their own classmates with Moebius Syndrome.
Moebius Syndrome is a rare neurological condition present at birth that primarily affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves, resulting in facial paralysis. We are proud of our students for spreading awareness, kindness, and inclusion! 💜✨

KHC is underway, and our school is excited about feeling good while doing good! Greenfield Elementary School is helping kids with special hearts through Kids Heart Challenge. We want as many families as possible to learn about heart health and the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.

✨ Beyond Expectations: Bringing Literature to Life! 📖
Our 5th graders are stepping straight into the pages of The Phantom Tollbooth! To celebrate their reading journey, we built a real-life portal to Dictionopolis—the ultimate gateway to the Lands Beyond. 🛣️🏰

🏀 Greenfield Math Night ➕➗
Families spent a fun evening “having a ball” discovering how math connects to basketball! Using data from the B-W Girls’ Basketball season, students answered questions, created jerseys with math facts, and put their skills to the test with Greenfield’s Staff Basketball Hall of Fame trivia.
Students also learned how they measured up by comparing their height and wingspan to NBA and WNBA players and collected their own stats to design a personalized basketball trading card.
The math fun didn’t stop there! Several families headed to the Varsity Girls game afterward to keep the math in action! 📊⛹️♀️

Mrs. Fransen’s 2nd graders sent Gingerbread Babies hidden in letters to family members to see what mischief they’d get into! 🍪✉️
We loved getting responses back—some by mail and many by email. These Gingerbread Babies have been busy eating cookies, hiding in Christmas trees, napping with pets, sleeping in beds, and even traveling to Arizona and flying to Atlanta! ✈️

🍀 We’re “Phelan Lucky” to Know Lucas! 🍀
We’re excited to once again celebrate Phelan Lucky Day on March 17 in support of awareness for Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder caused by a difference in chromosome 22.
This day is especially meaningful to our school community as we honor Lucas Hush, an 11th-grade student and the son of our high school math teacher, Grey Hush. Despite the challenges of this rare condition, Lucas lives life to the fullest and brings joy to everyone around him.
In partnership with the Phelan Lucky Foundation, families, and staff, we’re helping raise awareness, support affected families, and fund important research.
💚 Consider purchasing a Phelan Lucky shirt
💚 Or wear a past shirt, green, or shamrocks to show your support
Let’s come together and rock our shamrocks on March 17 in honor of Lucas. We truly are Phelan Lucky to know him! 🍀💚
