After learning about the famous painting The Scream by artist Edvard Munch (pronounced “Moonk”), Mrs. Fransen’s class discussed its unique characteristics and then created their own inspired versions of this expressive masterpiece.
Such creativity and imagination from our young artists! 🧑🎨✨

Our very own local Scooter’s Coffee is participating in the Week of Giving, November 8th–14th!
A portion of their proceeds during this week will be donated to scholarships for Baldwin-Woodville High School students! 🎓

👻🎃 Halloween Fun & Pumpkin Carving at BWSD! 🎃👻
What a blast we had last week celebrating Halloween! Our amazing staff really got into the spirit, showing off some incredible costumes and spreading smiles throughout the halls. Take a look at some of the fantastic fun we had!
And over at the ALC, our creative students had a monstrously good time carving some fantastic pumpkins! Their creations were truly ghoulishly great!
🎨🖌️ A special shoutout to the BWHS Drawing and Painting 1 class, who painted pumpkins for the St. Croix County Aging Halloween Party. What a wonderful way to share their talent and community spirit!

A few weeks ago, Greenfield Elementary celebrated Crazy Sock Day as part of our October inclusion focus on Down Syndrome Awareness. 💙💛
Each month, our school highlights a different area of inclusion—September’s focus was Deaf and Hearing Impairment. For that activity, classes were challenged to spell the word UNIFIED in a creative way, and we chose to sign it in American Sign Language! 🤟
We love finding fun and meaningful ways to celebrate inclusion, understanding, and unity at Greenfield! 💖🖤

This week in Wit and Wisdom, students brought their learning to life through mini performances! They’ve been focusing on the book The Little Yellow Leaf and worked in small groups to act out the story’s resolution while building their reading fluency.
📚 We love seeing our students engage creatively with literature!

Greenfield Elementary students have created amazing artwork. We sent 676 projects to Square 1 Art last week!
Parents, watch for free stickers and order forms coming in early November. Don’t miss the chance to cherish your child’s creativity! 💛

Students in Mrs. Stimmel’s class had fun using our new Bridges math curriculum! They played a game called “Quick Look,” where one partner flashed their number rack and the other had to quickly figure out how many beads were moved.
This engaging activity helps students build number sense and strengthen their math fluency—all while having fun!

Bria was honored for demonstrating compassion, integrity, and empathy during a recent cross country meet. We received a heartfelt email from an opposing team’s parent commending Bria’s incredible sportsmanship and kindness.
Way to go, Bria! You truly embody what it means to be a Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawk. 🖤❤️

Students received a Certificate of Excellence for their dedication and exemplary representation of Baldwin-Woodville. This month’s recipients were Gabe Schommer and Dane Veenendall — both of whom competed at the State Track & Field Meet this past summer.
Dane participated in the 300M Hurdles
Gabe competed in the Wheelchair Shot Put, 800M, and 1600M
Let’s continue to support and celebrate the amazing talents of our students! 🖤❤️

Ms. Rodman and Ms. Steffen’s 5th grade classes teamed up with Mrs. Leque’s kindergarteners for a fun fall reading and craft activity! Our older students loved sharing stories and helping their younger buddies create some festive fall crafts. 🍁
