📏 Mrs. Fransen’s Class: Measuring 6–7!
In Number Corner, our learners explored measurement by comparing popsicle sticks and ten trains (10 connected cubes). We discovered that shorter tools require more pieces to measure an object, and longer tools require fewer.
Our big takeaway? We used more popsicle sticks than ten trains because popsicle sticks are shorter — and our bookshelf measured between 6 and 7 ten trains long. Of course, the room erupted with excited shouts of “6–7!” 😂

They’ve been having fun with their projects, and we’re excited to share some photos of the students learning and creating in action.
Way to go, Blackhawks! ❤️🖤

Today, we are thankful for the students, parents, families, staff, and community members who make the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District such a special place each and every day.
We are truly fortunate to have the support of our two fantastic communities—Baldwin and Woodville. Your partnership, pride, and dedication mean so much to us. ❤️🖤
Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and restful Thanksgiving!

Our Viking students had an absolutely stellar time at the Special Olympics Unified Bowling event at Broadway Bowl! The day was filled with smiles, laughs, teamwork, and plenty of strikes.
We’re so proud of our students for representing Viking Middle School with positivity and unity! ❤️🖤

Congratulations to the students selected to represent the Baldwin-Woodville Area School District on the Middle Border Conference Leadership/Sportsmanship Committee!

Check out Mrs. Ryberg's awesome kindergarten class hard at work on building the number 5!
We used a quick flash of a 5-frame card and then the students got busy building what they saw. The best part? They partnered up to explain to a buddy how they saw and built the number. This is a fantastic way to develop number sense and communication skills!

We’ve got tons of great products ready to show off. Come check out our merch and support our school while you shop!

On Thursday, November 6th, Viking Middle School sent seven talented musicians to the Shell Lake Middle Level Honors Band. These students spent the day rehearsing alongside musicians from 28 different schools across northern and western Wisconsin.
The experience included rehearsals with two different bands, sectional/master classes, and concluded with an evening concert at the Shell Lake Arts Center.

At November’s Board of Education meeting, we recognized the Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) Leaders from Viking Middle School.
These students were honored for their exceptional leadership in helping new and younger students feel welcomed, supported, and prepared to succeed. Five WEB leaders were able to attend the meeting, representing the 32 outstanding 8th graders who serve in this important role.
Pictured are Brie Kruk, Duke Anderson, Aria Moulton, Alaina Sain, and Ella Curtis.
Thank you to all of our WEB leaders for the positive impact you make every day! 👏✨

Students shared something about themselves and tossed a ball of yarn to classmates with similar traits or experiences, creating a web of connections across the room.
