🏆 Medtronic Patents of Honor for breakthroughs in implantable electrical stimulation and therapy region imaging.
🌟 Named a Bakken Fellow in 2021—Medtronic’s highest technical distinction, held by fewer than 220 people in company history.
📰 Recognized by the Twin Cities Business Journal as one of Minnesota’s Top 500 Inventors.

Our #BWBlackhawks high school football players made some very special connections during this year's Homecoming celebrations!

🏈 High school students created personalized paper jerseys featuring the numbers of our players.
🏈 The players took time to visit, and each student personally handed their chosen player the jersey and shared a high-five and a wish of "Good luck!" for the big game.

This interaction was a meaningful way for all students to practice communication and social skills, participate in cherished traditions, and build positive peer relationships.

A massive thank you to our football players and coaches for their dedication and time to foster inclusion and connection across the student body. This is what school spirit is truly about—our whole B-W community.

HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE HIGHLIGHT: BOB WAHLQUIST 🤼‍♂️

Join us in celebrating the induction of Robert "Bob" Wahlquist into the Baldwin-Woodville Hall of Fame under the Athlete category!❤️🖤

A true pioneer in Baldwin-Woodville athletics, Bob cemented his legacy in 1980 by capturing the WIAA Class B 138-pound Individual State Title alongside a Middle Border Conference championship. In doing so, Bob became the first state individual champion in Baldwin-Woodville school history, setting a benchmark of athletic excellence for generations of Blackhawks to follow.

• 1980 Middle Border Conference Champion
• First Individual State Champion in B-W School History

Abby anchored Baldwin-Woodville softball through an era of unrivaled dominance. She led the Blackhawks to three consecutive WIAA Division 2 State Championship games (2011–2013), secured a State Title in 2012, and never lost a Middle Border Conference game throughout her high school career.

Help us celebrate a true Baldwin-Woodville cornerstone! Claire Stein was officially inducted into the inaugural Class of 2026 Baldwin-Woodville Area School District Hall of Fame!

For 35 years (1965–2000), Claire shaped generations of student-athletes as an English teacher, multi-sport coach (Cross Country, Track, and Girls Basketball), and long-time Athletic Director—a role he stepped into temporarily in 1983 and stayed to lead for 17 years!

Even after retirement, Claire remains a familiar, welcoming face as a regular track official and devoted fan at home sporting events.

🏆 HALL OF FAME SPOTLIGHT: JOHN "JACK" KING 🏆

We honor the legacy of a true Baldwin-Woodville legend! John "Jack" King has been inducted into the inaugural Class of 2026 Baldwin-Woodville Area School District Hall of Fame. His son, Jeff King, accepted the award on his father's behalf during the ceremony.

For over four decades, Jack served as a foundational pillar of B-W High School as a teacher (physical science, physical education, and driver’s education), multi-sport coach, and athletic director. He coached nearly every sport offered, led efforts to establish the school pool, and built the foundation for decades of Blackhawk athletic success.

Jack’s incredible legacy remains permanently woven into our district's identity—anchored by King Field, the stadium proudly named in his honor, and reinforced by the generations of students and athletes he inspired.
