Dear Baldwin-Woodville High School students, parents/guardians, and community,
Welcome to the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. Our staff is incredibly excited to begin this school year with students, with our challenge being to help each and every one of them have the best educational experience possible. We have three new staff members: Mr. Lance Kamm is our new English teacher, Mrs. Melody Wiinamaki is our new high school counselor, and we have a new librarian, Mrs. Katie Wolski, to work alongside Mr. Carey. We encourage our students to help them feel welcome and know that their efforts in the classroom will assist our new staff in their personal transition to our school.
We will work diligently to ensure each student receives the best education possible, but we need them to take advantage of the opportunities offered during their four years at Baldwin-Woodville High School. Students, teachers, support staff, coaches, administrators, and parents, working together and not independently of each other, will help students reach their personal goals as a scholar and member of the community.
We are also heading into the school year with many unknowns. We have altered our schedule and we are prepared to pivot and make changes if needed regarding how we deliver education to students; we will be prepared for in-person, virtual, and have even developed a hybrid model if needed. In order for all of us to be successful, we all need to be flexible and adaptable to this ever-changing situation. We all need to work together for the best outcomes we can possibly have during the 2020-2021 school year.
We hope that you use our school website as well as Skyward (our student management system) over the course of the year. Please carefully review the information on the Back-To-School Registration Forms to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date. While Skyward is an excellent tool for you to follow your child(ren)'s progress, please don't let this be your only means of communication with our school. For example, if you notice missing assignments, it may simply mean something was turned in late or is not yet graded. Please be patient, and do not hesitate to email your child's teacher(s), and feel free to copy me in the message for further information.
Please CLICK HERE to view the STUDENT FEES/HIGH SCHOOL BUDGET sheet that outlines mandatory and optional costs for your child(ren) while in high school. We hope this is helpful as you plan a spending timeline for the supplemental school costs that continue to increase. Much of what is listed will not affect every student, and the list is not inclusive of all costs that could potentially occur, but we will try to keep the list as updated as possible.
